How the service works

Academic Publishing and Peer Review

A page for your peer-reviewed journal, periodical or edited volume, where you receive submissions and manage them through to a decision.

Authors submit their papers from their own accounts; you invite your reviewers by email, and they review from a private link without needing an account. Everyone hears what concerns them when it happens: the author the status of the paper, the reviewer the invitation, and you every new development. Review is double-blind: reviewers never see the author’s name, and authors never see the reviewer’s.

Peer-reviewed journals and books

No review pages yet

The first journal to be approved will appear here.

A peer-reviewed journal or periodical

Published in successive issues, accepting papers all year round or by deadlines you set.

A peer-reviewed book

Compiled once, with a closing date for submissions — and it may start with a call for abstracts.

The steps

Three parties take part in the service, and each has a path of their own.

The journal editor

  1. 1
    Registers the publication

From their account on the site: the name, the institution, a description and the publication guidelines, plus abstract and paper deadlines if wanted.

  2. 2
    The site approves it

Its page then appears in the list of journals and starts accepting submissions.

  3. 3
    Invites authors

With a link and a ready-made message to send by WhatsApp or email from the management screen; the journal is also shown on the home page while it is accepting submissions.

  4. 4
    Adds reviewers

By name, email and field, then assigns reviewers to each paper; each of them receives an invitation by email.

  5. 5
    Decides

Receives the recommendations and decides: accept, request revisions or decline, with the option of attaching the reviewers’ comments without their names.

The author

  1. 1
    Chooses a journal

Reads its description, guidelines and deadlines, and sees whether it is accepting submissions now.

  2. 2
    Submits the paper

As a file (PDF or Word, up to 40 MB) or as text typed on the page. If the journal starts with abstracts, the abstract goes first and the paper is added later.

  3. 3
    Follows its progress

Sees the status of the paper under “My submissions”, and receives a message at every decision.

  4. 4
    Revises if asked

Uploads the revised version from the same page, and it goes back to the journal.

The reviewer

  1. 1
    Receives an invitation

A message with the paper’s title and a private link — no account on the site is needed.

  2. 2
    Accepts or declines

With one click, and may give a reason for declining.

  3. 3
    Reads the paper

Without the author’s name; the file arrives under a neutral name that does not reveal who wrote it.

  4. 4
    Gives a recommendation

Chooses a recommendation and writes comments or uploads them as a file.

Submission statuses

Authors see them under “My submissions” as they change.

What the service guarantees

Double-blind review. The reviewer’s page shows neither the author’s name nor their institution, and the paper arrives under a neutral file name. Reviewers’ comments reach the author numbered — “Reviewer 1”, “Reviewer 2” — without their names.

Two rounds if you want them. A deadline for abstracts and one for full papers, each with its own notification date — and whatever you leave empty does not appear on your page.

Two ways to handle revisions. When you request revisions you choose whether the revised version goes back to the reviewer, or is checked by your editorial board alone. The author’s earlier versions are kept.

Verified institutions. No page appears until the site’s administration approves it, so authors know who they are submitting to before they submit.

Journal fees go to the journal. If your journal charges review or publication fees, you add its payment link and when the fee is due, and authors pay the journal directly. The site takes nothing from the author.
