Terms and Conditions

Voice of Arabic — voiceofarabic.net

This English text is a translation provided for convenience; the Arabic text is the binding version.

This page describes what stands between you and the site: what you will find on it, what you contribute to it, with whom the rights remain, and when either party may stop.

In short

1. Who we are, and what this site is

Voice of Arabic is an Arabic website on language and literature, running for twenty-five years, owned and supervised by Abdulaziz Alhomaid (عبد العزيز بن حميد الحميد). It offers a library, articles, research papers, videos and tools for researchers, and services that anyone may request. Your use of the site constitutes acceptance of these terms; if you do not accept them, do not use it.

2. Your account

You may ask for your account to be closed whenever you wish, from the Contact us page; what remains after closure is described in the Privacy Policy.

3. What you upload to the site

Whether an article, a research paper, a book, an image or a comment:

4. What is not accepted

The site's owner may decline to publish whatever he sees fit, withhold what has been published, and suspend an account from which any of the above recurs — and the account holder is notified of this by email.

5. Rights in the site's content

What the site has published from its archive, together with its design and its tools, is reserved to it. You may quote and refer to it, citing the source and the page link, and you may reproduce text for a scholarly or educational purpose. Wholesale copying — such as copying a whole section or emptying the library — requires permission.

Anyone who finds material on the site that infringes their rights should tell us; we will verify the claim and withhold the material if it is correct.

6. Scholarly publishing and peer review

A paper submitted for peer review is kept in a location that cannot be opened from the web, reachable only by its author, the manager of the scholarly outlet, and the assigned reviewer. Review is blind: the reviewer receives neither the researcher's name nor email. The decision to accept or reject belongs to the scientific committee; the site communicates it, and promises neither acceptance nor any particular timeframe.

7. Certificates

Certificates issued by the site attest to what took place on it — attendance, passing a test, or participation — and do not promise accreditation by any body outside it. Every certificate carries a verification code by which its authenticity can be checked. A certificate issued on the basis of incorrect information is cancelled.

8. Services and fees

The site is in trial operation. No fees are charged during the trial period, and prices shown are not requested. When charging begins, it will be announced.

Researcher services — such as language review and consultation — do not begin until the price has been presented to, and accepted by, the person who made the request. Any fees charged are subject to the Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms.

9. Advertisements

What appears in advertising spaces is an advertisement submitted by its advertiser, and it is not shown until the site's management approves it. The site does not guarantee its content and is not answerable for what lies behind its link; responsibility for the accuracy of the advertisement, and for licensing whatever it offers, lies with the advertiser.

10. Links to other sites

The site contains links to sites that are not its own, given for reference. The site bears no responsibility for their content, nor for any change to them after it has linked to them.

11. Limitation of liability

Effort is made to ensure the accuracy of what is published and the continuity of the service, but the content is not guaranteed to be free of error, nor the service to run without interruption. The scholarly material on the site is offered for benefit and does not take the place of specialist advice. Where a fault in the site causes financial harm in a service that was paid for, the Refund Policy applies.

12. Changes to these terms

They may be amended when the site's services change, and the date of the last amendment is written at the bottom. We will notify you by email of anything that materially affects your rights.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and any dispute arising from them is referred to the competent authorities there.
