The Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States is pleased to announce that the committee of the Bureau's Award has completed its work for the 1432–1433 AH (2011–2012) cycle, at a meeting held on 28 Muharram 1434 AH (12 December 2012). The committee studied the reports it received on the works nominated for the Award, which had been evaluated against the scholarly criteria it set; it discussed their contents and exchanged views and observations on them, and decided to award the prize jointly to the following works:
A) Research and studies
A study entitled “Developing the Teaching and Learning of Vocabulary in the Reading Curriculum for the Early Grades”, by Professor Saud bin Nasser Al-Kathiri and Dr Abdullah bin Muhammad Al-Suraye, of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at King Saud University.
B) Field practice
The field practice entitled “Programme for Speaking Skills in Standard Arabic”, implemented by the Ministry of Education of the Sultanate of Oman.
C) Educational projects
The website on the World Wide Web “Voice of Arabic”, nominated by the Riyadh Literary Club. The owner of the site is Professor Abdulaziz Alhomaid of the College of Arabic Language at Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University.
In announcing the good news to the winners, the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States congratulates them and wishes them further distinguished scholarly work. It announces that the Award will be presented to them at a ceremony whose place and date will be set later. It thanks everyone who applied for the Award and wishes them success in future cycles, and it expresses its appreciation to the Award committee for its efforts and to the reviewers who took part in the evaluation at its various stages.
