Biography

Known by the nisba al-Harawi and also linked to Fashan, a village of Herat. He compiled Kitab al-Gharibayn, an alphabetically arranged dictionary of the rare words in the Qurʾan and hadith, which became a standard reference for Arabic rare vocabulary.
