Welcome to the New Voice of Arabic

2026 · Rabiʻ I 29, 1448 AH ·Word 1

Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds, and peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his family and companions.
More than a quarter of a century has passed since the first version of Voice of Arabic was launched: I published it on Saturday, 20 Jumada al-Akhirah 1422 AH (8 September 2001). It took its first steps weakly, walking and stumbling, and the years passed in attempts to improve it. We succeeded in some and failed in others, through a long struggle with website developers, who are keen and enthusiastic at first and then slow down when they reach the details and fine points of the site.
The site went through years of success and growth, and faltered in others. Between those times it won, together with two other works, the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States Award for the 1432–1433 AH (2011–2012) cycle, which the Bureau devoted to the Arabic language: its teaching and learning in general education.
In recent years the site faltered again, but the dream of bringing it back to life never faded. The dream has come true, praise be to God, and the site has been born anew, in a better form than it ever had before.
These days we celebrate the launch of the new Voice of Arabic network (www.voiceofarabic.net), less than a month after the launch of its twin, EventSheets (https://eventsheets.com). I hope both sites will succeed and grow, each filling a gap in its own field.
Because the site belongs to everyone, I invite all to support it with their opinions, suggestions, criticism and evaluation.
Welcome, everyone, to the Voice of Arabic network.
