What they said about Arabic From the author's own Arabic

In the introduction to al-Mufradat:

“The words of the Qur’an are the kernel and cream of the speech of the Arabs, its centrepiece and its treasures; on them the jurists and the wise rely in their rulings and their wisdom, and to them the skilled poets and orators turn in their verse and their prose.”

al-Raghib al-Isfahani
d. 502 AH / 1108 CE
al-Husayn ibn Muhammad, author of al-Mufradat, a dictionary of the Qur’an’s vocabulary.
